Default Max Horsepower with a stock bottom end

What's the most horsepower ever achieved by a stock bottom end 5.0 mustang with forced induction (turbo/sc)?

well if it is a stock block, it will crack right down the middle and splite the block if it sees alot of 500hp ...

but w/ all the different f/i, nitrous setups i have seen 5.0 motors make well over 600hp

If youve got a good tune you can live with 550 rwhp for awhile. Its really a crap shoot after 450 rwhp. Some will split immediatly while others hang on forever.

I should be around 650 hp N/A but we will see in a few weeks and we will see how long the block last at that number. It will be fun to say the least

Sukkoi19 hit the nail on the head. I ran 575rwhp on a completely stock shortblock for a couple of years, but my tune was spot on. I was nervous on each pass I made waiting to see 0 oil pressure, but luckily I never did. It is a TOTAL crap shoot on anything over 500 IMO. I've seen blocks split with only 450rwhp, and I've seen them live (on the dyno) to 650rwhp. Aren't manufacturing tolerances great?

BTW, my #'s were done with a supercharger.

I've really only seen guys run ~525/550hp MAX on stock bottom-end. Personally, I wouldn't risk it.. But thats me

Get it tuned well and you will be fine. Also another thing to think about is the rpm range you will take it upto. a 550hp stock block that revs to 5000rpm will last longer than a 500hp stock block that revs to 6000rpms.
