Default offical shelby thread

I work at Auto Alliance in Flat Rock. We Have been building the FEU Shelby's this past week. Right now the launch for the public shelby's is the begining of June. The other day they brought 2 racks of the motors out to the asrs (Automated storage and recovery system) to load them. They are some BIG a** engines. I was looking under one yesterday and was trying to figure out how the hell can you even put headers on this. But I know there will be somebody that will figure this out. If you have any Q post up and I'll answer them to the best of my ability.

That's cool that you are able to see them prior to the general public.
I'm sure sneaking pictures is out of the question. I guess getting fired
and sued isn't such a novel idea.

I'd be interested in how much that engine assembly weighs.

Default Big A** engine.......

Have you heard one of the engines run yet, either in a car or on a dyno? If so what did you think? Different than a regular cobra, same, lots different?

No I haven't yet. I'll talk to the guys that dyno the cars when I go in today and find out.

I talked to the guys that drive the cars off the line and into the dyno. They said that there is a computer tuner on the end of the line that detunes the motor. He said it takes it down to around 350 hp. So the car is quiet on the dyno.

I haven't forgot about you. The only way I can find out is to look at the rack that the engines come on and see how much it wieghs. As of last night the motors are stored across the street from the assembly plant.

Saw a Shelby at the Knott's show a week ago, but of course it was roped off and the hood was closed.
