How many F-body guys are shopping for a Mustang?

Just curious, but how many of you guys are shopping for a new Mustang? Especially since the General didn't build us new Camaros or Firebirds.

Its okay, you are safe to admit it here :)

SJRTX 03-10-2006 12:20 AM

Hmmm....

I bet once the Summer gets here and the new GT500 is out, theres going to be quite a few..

DONAIMIAN 03-10-2006 08:35 AM

Ive been lurking around autotrader, dont plan to get serious untill november.

Vendetta 03-10-2006 01:52 PM

Once out of college I'm going to buy a brand new one if the funds allow (or a challenger or used GTO. This spring I'm looking at SN95 GTs as a daily driver. If my insurance boots me, I won't be able to afford full coverage on my WRX and will probably sell it. I don't have enough cash in the bank to afford an LS1 and I've been down the LT1 road, so I figure I'll grab either a Fox or an SN95 to hold me over until after school.

If your going to buy a 94-98 car, go with 94-95 as they still had the 5.0L.

WILWAXU 03-18-2006 12:01 PM

I'm toying with the idea of getting a 3 vavle car.

I was offered a clean 92, even trade for my Civic....one of my biggest regrets was not going for it, all it needed was headlights :(

ITSTOCK 03-23-2006 05:30 PM

I'm not currently an fbody owner, but my previous car was a 94 Z28 (basically just stalled and exhaust, ran 13.2@104). All I can say is, I am happy I bought my car!

How are you getting hooked up on a GT500?? That's pretty impressive, I must say! The two dealers I visited locally told me that if I wasn't ready to spend 75+ thousand, to just stop looking :bang:

HYBRED 03-23-2006 08:22 PM

A close family friend is ordering his Shelby soon, he's letting me pick the color...and I bet I'll get to drive it!

jrp 03-27-2006 01:10 AM

me :D, a foxbody, notch prefered.

VSGLS1 03-27-2006 10:33 AM

Only thing I will consider is an unragged 03/04 Cobra. But a house will come first after college.

PendragonZ 03-27-2006 03:44 PM

I'm considering one, but not sure on a timeframe.

Lordsauran 03-28-2006 12:01 PM

I considered one, and got it lol, the new ones arent bad, not fast really, but not bad

02ss98C5 03-30-2006 10:38 PM

I have been looking for a 90-91 Cobra, I used to be anti ford anything, but I tolerate them now and would consider buying one

Nine Ball 03-30-2006 11:12 PM

no such thing as a 90-91 Cobra, only 93 for fox bodies.

PNYKLR2 03-30-2006 11:25 PM

I've had several mustangs before and I've test drove the new stangs, I'm really disappointed with the performance and the new ones ride like a 4 door sedan to me. But to all his own.

Swang 03-31-2006 01:04 AM

im actually in the market for a rolling chassis 96-8 stang...or possibly a 94-95...i like the sn95 body style. id just like a chassis to piece together whenever i get time and money. put a 4v with a KB on it or something like that.

gyrene2003 03-31-2006 05:40 AM

yeah, not impressed with the new mustangs, in person they seem like tanks on whells in person and in an article i read, not sure if it was motor trend or car and driver, the best time they could pull was a 13.9 in the 1/4!!!! Thats dodge challenger times, and those things are boats!!

jamnut 03-31-2006 08:00 AM

I'm looking at an 82 Fox Body, but it would be used to transfer the driveline from my Elcamino that got totaled in Katrina into.

I was going to get a Lightning a few month's ago, but I ran across a low mile GMC Syclone & jumped on that.

Hmmm, 13.2 in your signature. I bet you can't feel the difference between 13.2 and 13.9, because both are slow.

don't throw stones if you live in a glass house :)

Quick86 03-31-2006 08:40 AM

MM&FF had mid to high 13s out of their automatic 05... ;)

RGV_Z28 03-31-2006 09:22 AM

Always wanted to see where I could go with a mustang. Friend has a 2003 GT and its not that bad.

Bio Messiah 03-31-2006 10:58 AM

i was shopping for an 03-04 svt, bought a SS camaro instead.

SScam68 03-31-2006 12:51 PM

Still have my eyes peeled for a Fox LX hatch to turn into a drag car.

unit213 03-31-2006 01:03 PM

I'm extremely impressed with the 3v motor so far. A friend has a '05 GT with a big
blower on it and it made just under 800rwhp. It has the usual forged internals, ported
heads, full exhaust, etc...but that's damned impressive from a 281cid motor. That's
on a pump gas tune too. It's on the bottle, but they never sprayed it.

BWH2003 03-31-2006 01:11 PM

Yeah 800 rwhp is amazing for a 281 motor. What kind of blower does he have on it?

Ling_650vette 03-31-2006 02:52 PM

As much as the performance of the 03/04s Cobras makes me :D I'd love to have a 99/01. I just think the lines flow better (yeah, Im in the minority...but I dont care).

I'd love to have one with some twins, solid axle and 6 speed. Nothing too insane in the power department, just a really stout street car.

But Im with some of the other people right now. Ive gotta finish school and pay for other shit right now to afford something else. That and I think a new truck will be on ordered before another performance car.

RED04Z06 03-31-2006 08:50 PM

Well I wasnt looking for one, but a week after I sold my Z06 and started saving for a C6 Z06, My uncle called me and said that he had surgery on his leg and couldnt drive stick no more and that he had a suprise for me. So when i got to his house, he threw me the keys to his 04 Cobra, and said its yours man. I was in total shock. First thing i did was pm unit213 and told him everything and told him i wanted it to be a daily driver but with 500whp, and he told me what to do and pretty soon i should have it done. BTW still going to get C6 Z06 also.

PontiacFan 03-31-2006 09:06 PM

I think the new ones are pretty sharp, but I don't think I'll be buyin' one, ...
<-- (See username, ...) :D

black_z 04-01-2006 10:41 AM

I would like a notchback some day.

slowpoke96z28 04-03-2006 11:03 PM

not a new one, but i always keep my eye open for a 5.0 LX. :pimp:
gears and dope make those cars fly.

Phoenix 5.7 04-04-2006 09:25 AM

im not sellin the WS6 ever, but i will be lookin for a GT500 in a few years for a drag queen/street beast. i want a FI car. i will wait till the markup isn't at corvette price levels

Brady 04-04-2006 09:05 PM

I'm ready to pull the trigger on an '05 or '06 GT Vert. I just want to find a decent deal.
