94-95 Cobras
What seperates them apart from regular GTs, brakes, suspension, engine? I went to school with some one who had a white 94, lowered on white Cobra Rs, good looking car. I have wanted one since then, wouldnt mind getting one when I'm done with school here in a few semesters. I want a 94-95 mainly because they had the 5.0 in them, easy route to go with. Not looking for any thing radical, just a good handling, fun street car. Would be nice to have a Mustang since I like them as well and have wanted one for a while. I'm building my TA up now and my goal with that is eventually a 10 sec weekend street/strip car with that.

The intake is different from a stock 5.0, and they also have the twin piston cobra calipers. Thicker sway bars, other than that I don't think they have too much different vs a GT

The rear spoiler is different, white faced gauges, wheels and tires, Engine is rated @250 hp, but more like 275.

Thanks man, any problems with those body styles? Part of me wants to get one but the other part doesnt really wnat another old car.

I don't think its that much. I think stock its closer to 235. Only thing diff on the motor is the intake manifold. If I were you I would go for a 96-98 Cobra. Yeah its not a 5.0 but the 94-95 cars are a pain in the a$$ to tune. The EEC IV SUCKS. Now days mod motor is the way to go if you are gonna get a sn-95 car. Even if you get a GT you can make the 2V motor run 11's all motor with the right combo. Just my $.02 |
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't 94/95 Cobras have the GT40 intake manifolds AND cyl heads...?
If it were me, I'd go 302, you can't beat the simplicity of the windsor! :) |

EVERYTHING I have ever read says the 1994/1995 Cobra's have GT40 heads with 1.7 roller rockers, GT40 intake, a different computer, 70mm mass air meter, 24# injectors, and a slightly different cam -- 270/270 w/.482" lift. I bet if you cross referrenced Cobra intake manifold with GT40 intake manifold its the same part #.
Thats why fox guys always switch to 94/95 Cobra GT40 heads or early explorer 5.0 GT40 heads ;) |

Honestly, if it were me, I'd get it.. You seriously cannot beat the simplicity of a windsor engine. Let me tell you, its worlds apart when it comes to ease of repair/maint/upgrades when compared to that LT1 car of yours! And parts are cheaper! :)
I'd jump all over it. |
