New motor build up..
5 Attachment(s)
I just had a new short block built for my 03 Mach1.. I wanted to make more power then what I was making and I new the stock shortblock would not hold the power I want to put down right now so I went ahead and had a new short block built..
The is a Teskid block, my stock Cobra Crank, Manley H-beam rods, Manley Flattop pistons, all ARP hardware, race bearings, ETC... The block is blue printed, balanced, Decked. All the good stuff.. I have hear these Teskid blocks can hold as much as 1500hp so that should be good for me.. The only thing I could have done better is put Billet Rods in, but those are around 1200 bucks.. Here are a few pics. |
sounds flippin sweet! :headbang: Whats the c/r like?
Can you shove Alum rods in a 4.6 with more stroke than stock? Just curious... :playboy: |

what about stock ci, stock block, alum internals?
|
Ya you can put either I or H beam aluminum rods. Manely H-beams are a very popular choice as they come standard in the 03/04 cobras and can hold alot of power. If it's a N/A motor and you need a lightweight rod the I beams are a good choice. -Mark

eehhhhh......I thought Alum rods didnt have any subcatagories as 'I' or 'H' Beams like Steel rods?
|
Sorry, habit, when rods are mentioned I immediately go to steel H or I beams. But they do have alum rods.

Yea I know who makes em.............I dont have any personal experience with Alum rods but my understanding is that they have significantly more surface area than steel rods and I was just curious if anyone knew if they would fit in a stock or 'teskid' blocks?
