Need help getting cruise control to work in 93 GT
Anyone here an expert at troubleshooting a factory Fox cruise control system? I want mine to work in my 93 but it doesn’t and I don’t know why. When I got the car, I replaced the actuator thing w/ cable that is located under the drivers side fender. I didn’t replace the “brain” under the dash though, and that “might be bad” I guess since the car originally had an under dash fire. Also, as far as I know the VSS works, but I could be wrong since it wasn’t purchased new.
So, short of replacing all components with known good ones (maybe even new ones), is there someone that can help walk me through troubleshooting the setup to know if certain parts are working, and if they are getting signal/voltages when they should be, etc? I’ve seen some websites about cruise, but they all refer to adding the system to a car that didn’t have it. None I’ve seen go through a detailed troubleshooting to fix non-operable systems.
I REALLY want the cruise control to work in this thing. As a last resort, anyone have any cruise parts that were KNOWN WORKING when removed from a car, that they'd be willing to donate to the street-car cause?
Thanks,
