Default First oil change?

The owners manual recommends changing the oil after the first 5000 miles. That seems a bit long to me. How many miles are you guys going before your first oil change?

I only have 1100 miles on my 06. Thought I would probably change it around 2000.

How many months has it been since you started putting the miles on it?

Honda says 7500 miles before you do your first oil change/maint.

LOL - Thats *nothin* ... If I were you, yeah, at 2000 miles I'd change it. Just because of how many months it has been and such. Thats my opinion as a mechanic.

I changed the oil on my 'stang before I put it in storage, have maybe 250 miles on it, and its getting an oil change here within the next week just because of how long the oil has been in there *shrug* and it's Mobil 1 I use as well, haha.
