Default 03 cobra brakes?

my friend has an 03 cobra and needs to change his brakes. he took it to the dealership and told him they will need to charge him $200 just for the front brakes! he just got his car a few weeks ago, so i told him i'd see if there were any other brand of brakes he can buy?
i think they wanted to go w/ OEM brakes, and that would explain the price...

Not sure if the '03 is any different from the 94-02, but 200 is pretty high unless they were replacing the rotors as well. It all depends on whether or not the rotors are beyond their service limit, and thus need to be replaced.

Is this a brake job, or buying a new set of calipers. If it's new calipers that's a pretty decent deal, if it's for a brake job, he's getting stiffed

i wouldnt pay any more than about $160-$170 for a brake job INCLUDING resurfacing the rotors. first thing he did wrong was bring it to the dealer. most places should allow you to supply your own pads as long they are brand new, which will save you money if the rotors dont need to be resurfaced and it also allows you to get a better pad than OE for probably close to the same price.
