Default 99-04 Free Mods?

I just got my 'Stang and I'm really new to this mod motor thing, all my know-how is for LT1/LS1(boyfriend has one of each) , or big mod motor mods (like...forged internals + 150 shot). What all free mods are there for my car? I know it's got the air box thing removed...what else is there?

Yup, there really isn't much to be done.

You could gut your cats, but chances are all it would do is make it loud and actually cost you power.

yea there isnt really anything i can think of except for removing the second set of shocks in the rear. might want upper/lower control arms before that though. could also do some sort of cheapie sheet metal scoop in the fender well to make it a smoother transition, etc.. not really all that much.

You could do the chain mod to make it faster... tie a chain and have it pulled by your friend's F-body.

That sucks. There's gotta be something. How about porting the throttle body?
Coolant bypass?
Can you disassemble the throttle body like the LS1's and remove the part of the shaft that the butterfly goes to-then cut the front half of it, bolt the butterfly back on and grind the excess screws on the back side? That's called the "half-shaft" mod. It helps part throttle airflow so the air doesn't have to jump the speedbump.
Descreen the mass air flow?
Modify the stock thermostat to open at a cooler temp?
Then wire a cheap switch from Radio Shack to the make the fans turn on manually?
Remove the intake and mark where the gasket meets the ports and port match the intake?
Remove the heads and portmatch and even better fully port the runners?

Just throwing out ideas... I have a few more.

Most of these have been done, and to not much avail on the 2V. Unfortunately, there really are no "free-mods".
