Classes for Ford day at US41 dragway - Indiana 7/2/06
Stolen from the US41 forums...
Wicked Street: All new, Sheepdog Productions' blend of Wild Street (ho-hum since there is no actual RACING involved) mixed with a little bit of bracket racing (Dial-ins are going to be used). We will go ahead and use the tires listed previously by Darrin, and this will run on a staggered(Handicap Start) Pro (.400 light) tree and will bring actual eliminations to Wild Street, yet will still have a payout of at least $500 to win, $250 to runner-up, and $100 for third. Trophies will be presented to each car closest to 7.0-14.0 averages of all elimination runs like Wild Street. Never before has the same race made winners out of both the fastest and most consistent cars, and it's here for you FIRST at US41 Dragway!
Pushrods VS. Modular motors: This one is Randy from Sutton HP's baby, he can't wait to try to whack some pushrod motor cars. There will be two sub-classes in this, single power adder and naturally aspirated. 351/5.8 pushrod and 330/5.4 modular based-motors will not be allowed in this class. Minimum weights are as follows:
Naturally Aspirated:
5.0: 3100
4.6 2v: 2700
4.6 3v: 2900
4.6 4v: 3000
Single Power Adder:
5.0: 3150
4.6 2v: 3050
4.6 3v: 3250
4.6 4v: 3350
2005/2006 Mustang Shootout: This will be a heads-up race, split between V6 and V8 cars if there is enough turnout. There are some big names on the list we're trying to get to commit to this shootout, so be prepared! Entry fee is $25 for this class. National magazine coverage is also a big possibility, so be sure to bring your new Mustang out for this day!!
Car Show: For all you neatniks, this is open to all Fords, and classes will be broken down as follows:
Pre-1979
1979-1993
1994-1998
1999-2004
2005-Present
All cars/trucks during these years will be grouped into the same categories at least for the time being. Trophies will be presented to class winners, along with best of show, best paint, and best interior. We are currently working on a goodie bag to go along with these trophies to help enhance this.
There will also be TNT during the event in between classes. Admission will be $12 for spectators and car show entrants only, $25 for TNT and the 05/06 Shootout, and Wicked Street and Pushrod vs. Modular entry fees will be determined shortly.
Remember, this day is for all you Ford lovers, so show up, bring your friends, your rides, and your Ford Pride! Let's amaze the boss (Chevy Guy) and show him how strong the Blue Oval following really is! Any other questions feel free to ask them in this post so the answers are here for everyone.
