What's meaner LOOKING? WS6 ~ '04 Cobra?

Well... lets hear it!!!

BWH2003 03-31-2006 12:25 PM

I used to think the Ws6 had a meaner stance but now the cobra is growing on me. The only thing the Ws6 has on the cobra is the hood. I think its the best hood on a production car ever.

unit213 03-31-2006 01:14 PM

They are both equally menacing IMO. I love the styling of both cars.

BWH2003 03-31-2006 01:34 PM

unit good answer. LOL

Ling_650vette 03-31-2006 02:36 PM

Stock - WS6
Throw a cowl hood on the Cobra and its tit for tat IMO.

I think both 99/01 and 03/04s look killer with cowls

BWH2003 03-31-2006 02:42 PM

You dont see very many cowl hoods on 03/04 cobras. I would like to see what one looks like. If you got a pic host it.

Ling_650vette 03-31-2006 03:30 PM

Aaron Archer's race car is the best I can do right this second...

Searching for more (I know Ive seen some street cars with it. Cobra R and regular cowl. Looks really good IMO)

Ling_650vette 03-31-2006 03:45 PM

lol, you just had to pimp the engine bay didnt you? :jest:

Both are badass looking cars either way you cut it. They've got edge, they've got style and they've got power. And they've both got V8s powering the rear wheels...whats not to love?! :drive:

Yeah... :pimp:

I honestly would love to own a Terminator, but I would rather spend cash on my current money pit.

Danny2tek 03-31-2006 07:14 PM

Ws6 :)

BWH2003 03-31-2006 08:36 PM

The cowls on the cobras look great

freakynipples69 04-01-2006 11:58 AM

If you see a trans am pulling up in your rear view, you normally go "oh shit"

I see a mustang pull up in my rear view, I say "awww how cute"

I'm going strictly on apperances right now. I always say 03 cobras are no joke and I never under estimate them.

Another little saying that I like. "The Camaro SS looks like it can beat your car if it wanted to. The WS6 looks like it came to do it."

SgtB 04-01-2006 12:03 PM

personally, I like the raptor hood the best on a firebird

Swang 04-01-2006 04:56 PM

the ws9 hood. isnt that the name. has the air vents along with the ram air intake. i think an 03 cobra's fog lights and bumper look meaner but the hood of a ram air fbody in your rear view is definitely intimidating.

nhra-trans-am 04-02-2006 02:27 PM

definately the ws6!

FH212 04-03-2006 02:42 PM

Holy crap! those are some bad azz Cobra's.

mpe488 04-03-2006 03:00 PM

I think the Cobra hood looks pretty weak. I prefer the 01+ GT hoods. But the WS6 looks meaner regardless.

Yeah.

The way those "tiers" work with the front end on the 99-04s is great. Especially with Sonic Blue or Black.

I'm gonna go with the Cobra with the Cowl that thing looks freakin' good.

BWH2003 04-06-2006 01:45 AM

I still like the stock hood. You wouldnt believe how much air flows out of the hood vents. If you change to a cowl hood you lose that heat dissipation.

DONAIMIAN 04-06-2006 03:56 PM

If I had to pick I would prolly say the WS6. But I do like the Cobra. The cowl hood does change it a lot, but I think I like the Cobra R's front end better than anything else on that body style mustang.

I think it would depend on how the cowl was setup as to whether it was functional or not. If it was just aesthetic you're right you lose all the functionality of the cowl, and with the stock hood (as far as dissipation goes).

But with a functional cowl I think you'll get just as much heat dissipation and it'll kinda be tit for tat as to the gains or loss' you get from the swith.

Vendetta 04-06-2006 05:21 PM

I have to go with the '04. I love the '03-'04 Cobras, have ever since they first came out.

What dissipation are you talking about. The base of the windshield is a high pressure zone and always has been. If you open up the back of the hood you will acually suck air into the engine bay.

Ling_650vette 04-09-2006 06:14 AM

Well, Im probably using the wrong terms or thinking differently in engineering then the way things actually are.

Im looking about it as the air passes over the opening, it creates a vacuum of cold air over the windshield, allowing the hot air from inside the engine compartment to escape. Not saying there isnt any air going into those area's what-so-ever, but the way Im thinking a cowl works, its contradictary.

Same here. Both have styling cues and things that make them mean.

I love the smooth lines of the WS6, but also the sharp and boxed lines of the Cobra.

ohsofast 04-27-2006 12:58 PM

I say WS6, the Cobras look good, but where i am, the GT's are changing there bumpers and hoods to look like a Cobra. It is like I see real ones and fake ones everyday all day.
I live in a military town, the base, Fort Bragg

TJs98GT 05-01-2006 07:34 AM

WS6 is definately meaner looking hands down

Thats what I was thinking at first, but if you look at the cowl of many race cars that deal with high speed youll see that the cowl area is flush with the windshield and all the hood vents are over the tires, and right behind the radiator. The hood on that cobra does look good none the less, just not as functional as most think.

HYBRED 05-04-2006 08:45 PM

I think it depends a lot on color...a black WS6 just says "bite me."

BLKWS.6 05-05-2006 01:44 AM

I have a cowl hood and have sucked leaves against the vents on it. It DEFINITELY sucks air in. When It is raining, the rain that drops off the edge of cowl goes into the vents at anything over 40-50mph. Definitely gonna help when I get my carb. I know a guy that fabs sheetmetal that is gonna try to make a carb housing that will seal up next to the vents NASCAR style for me.
