allright guys im just wondering what a safe amout of power through a stock shortblock is, post your combo and how much power you have made with it.

Safe? Under 400HP. Max without breaking? Some break as early as 450HP, some last until 600HP. Its a crap shoot really ;)

;) Not word for word asking the same specific thing you are asking, but close enough... It depends on the wear and tear on the engine. Every block is different, but 400 as brains has said is the only really level you can really feel safe at.

I've heard 500-600 RWHP is the norm, with the majority of them breaking at the low end of that spectrum.

Me? I'm thinking my 331 with a 76mm with just enough boost to push 550 RWHP, daily driven.

It will break.

Don't go over 500, and you're good.

What shortblock are you talking about...3V motors?

"Safe" is around 450rwhp IMO. 500rwhp and you're pushing your luck. Expect
something (like a rod) to let go.

Im pretty sure since this is the pushrod v8 section he meens a ford small block, probobly the 302

If you run near 500hp and more I would carry a broom and dustpan with you in your backseat
