Does anyone know if Pro Stars or such will fit on a 2005+ Mustang? I'm guessing that calipers will have to be ground and spacers are needed, similar to F-bodies.

Tony Pro Stock John 03-11-2006, 12:16 PM The guys at Sutton said that most 15's won't fit in back unless you relocate the shocks. I think they now run Bogarts. Brains 03-11-2006, 01:32 PM If you're in the area, stop by the house and you can test fit my Weld XP's. They are dual-lug pattern, and fit the F-body without any grinding at all. If they fit, I'll let you borrow 'em to baseline the car (26x10.5 ET streets, 165mm VW tires). Nine Ball 03-12-2006, 09:43 AM hmmmm, might have to try those out Brian. It could be fun abusing a stock GT on tires :) Pro Stock John 03-12-2006, 05:49 PM The issue is that the shock mounts are on the outer edge, and it's hard to find a wheel that will fit without relocating the shocks inward. I've seen an 05 GT with earlier gen Cobra 17's on it, they stuck out a bit, kind of like Centerlines on a LS1 F-Body. K Bo 03-15-2006, 08:34 PM From what I have researched, to fit 15" wheels, you will need to grind the calipers and relocate the swaybar. XP's have shown to fit with no modifications, as have Bogarts. There is a huge thread about it on modularfords.com, but I think that is the jist of it. I plan on buying som 17x9s and running 275/40/17 ET Street radials. The offsets on the sn95 5-lugs are a bit less so the wheels will sit almost flush with the outer fender if not out a bit. For track only wheels, I don't really care, but I wouldn't run them all the time. Hope that helps. BMR Suspension 03-16-2006, 10:22 AM We run Bogarts on our 05 mustang project car.http://www.bmrfabrication.com/ProjectY91.htm We have 325/50/15 Mickey Thompsons on a 10 inch rim fit sweet!!!! :D Just Chuck 03-17-2006, 11:30 AM We put some '96 waffle wheels with ET streets on Larry's car and you can tell the wheel needed more backspacing. 15x8 wheels with 5.5 BS could probably stand to have a 6" BS instead. Got pictures? And what kinda 60's was he cutting? Brains 03-17-2006, 03:59 PM Chuck !!! Glad to see ya over here man :thumb: Just Chuck 03-17-2006, 05:27 PM No pics, but the tires were about dead even with the edge of the fender lip. Didn't stick out, but if you took a steep driveway entry and a 45 degree angle, you'd probably rub the tires pretty bad. Didn't 60ft any better than it did on street tires even though it would blow the tires off on normal rubber. But that was also before the tuner and I think the drive by wire prevents true WOT right out of the hole. Larry 03-18-2006, 08:22 AM Welcome to the site Chuck! And thanks again for the loan of the tires. I may need them for sure now. I feel I have found the problem with the hesitation I was experiencing. It's not the throttle plates. I'm pretty sure it's the Charge Motion Control Valve Plates (intake manifold runner control). I have changed my programming to open the plates full at launch. I feel sure the hesitation I was getting was resultant of those plates. Just in case you don't know, Ford manufactured butterfly plates in the plenum runners, most likely for emissions. The factory setting for the plates to open was 2900 rpm. With this tight factory converter 2900 rpm was quite a while after launch. Pro Stock John 03-18-2006, 04:20 PM BMR, do you have the stock mounts moved in? BMR Suspension 03-20-2006, 08:06 AM BMR, do you have the stock mounts moved in? You will have to relocate the swaybar mount and cut it shorter to clear a deep dich 15 inch rim. Other wise it's just a very tight fit......
