What's the deal with our temperature gauge?

I have logged my engine temperature and it varies depending on air temperature, engine load and car speed. My temperature gauge comes up to the middle and stays at the same place. Why have they started making gauges that don't give accurate readings? I want to be able to know what my engine temperature is doing. These type of gauge is for wimps! LOL!

It's just a dummy light. I agree, I'd like a real gauge, too.

all the stock gauges are horrible, too bad they dont make the autometer cluster for the 98 and earlier cars

The worst gauge you have is your oil pressure gauge, the sensor literally only reads if there is the slightest bit of oil pressure, and it will stay right in the middle, even if you only have 1 or 2 psi. I lost an engine thanks to the factory dummy gauges. I bought an autometer oil pressure gauge to keep an eye on what my engine is doing.

and FYI the 99+ autometer cluster gauges will read exactly what the stock gauges read. It's not autometer gauges, just the lights and logos.

well that sucks, guess it doesnt matter much then, i would consider replacing them all with autometers if someone made a nice replacement panel to put them in so i dont have 2 of each gauge.

yeah, when the stock oil pressure gauge reads zero it basically means "your fucked, time to buy a new motor"
