Carburated Mod motor?
Is there a carburated conversion for the Modular motors? Will it work with both the regular and the PI motors?

Al papito is running a carbed 5.4 DOHC in his NMRA car right now running 9's on motor and Tim@MPH and Scott@ VT Engines are testing theirs.

Where would one find an intake, or would you have to have a custom one built? Also what about the ignition set up, would you just have to use separate coil packs, and a stand alone engine management system?
|
Right now none of that is even available that I am aware of. Most likely will have to wait until Al Papito, MPH, and VT Engines are done testing their own out before they would market it.

yes, edelbrock is supposed to release their carb manifold for 2v motors this month if i remember correctly. its geared more towards race though and has a very high rpm range efficiency. i dont know how great it would be for a daily or frequently street driven vehicle.
|
VT already sells theirs.
http://www.vtengines.com/store/index...ex&cPath=21_32 Not really that expensive. As far as the coil packs. The pic above has them mounted under the intake, you can see the wires run toward the back of the motor and under the intake manifold. |
yeah but VT only makes them for the 2v. the edelbrock manifold is i believe the first and only 2v carb manifold
|
VT sells them both, and even for 5.4L's Click the link and then click on 4V intakes and it will list them.
