Where's The 2.3T Representers???

Since this is Ford Mustang Forced Induction. Why no love for the original Turbo Fords.....................The 2.3T!!! You know the motor from the SVO, Thunderbird TurboCoupe and XR7.

I've got an 89 Coupe basket case that I bought off some guy in the rural area of Austin. Came straight from the bushes/field with what he said was a blown tranny and leaking 2.3 NA. I bought the car because I had a complete 2.3T drivetrain (motor, tranny, harness and computer) that had been sitting in my garage for over 3 months looking for a home. Anyhow, get the car home and immediately start to dissect gthe entire car. Upon removing the harness I found the issue that cosued him to think the tranny was bad. The TPS wire was frayed/disentegrated and the throttle never read more then 2.1 volts. So when it wouldn't accelerate for him, he figured it was the tranny. Founda few other wires deteriorated (or just burned up, like the wiper amplifier, crusie and the fan relay, though those are always burned on a 2.3). No major since I was laying in the harness from the 88 T-Bird along with the CCRM that eliminated all the external relays and switches.

Dropped in the motor, tranny harness, replaced most of the interior and got it on the road.

Nice and peppy, just a great daily driver (not to mention, I went from having to drive the Escalade and it's 9 miles to the gallon to this and it's 20 something, I was in financial heaven!!!) for the most part of last year.

Well, I travel a lot for work and havea lot of free time sitting in Hotel rooms. So I surf and shop (lot's of time to make wish list) more then anything. I stirred up a "Witches Brew" of parts for the 2.3 during the latter part of 05.
Went to a tubular header, 24x12x3 front mount, K27 turbo, 65mm TB, gutted/ported upper and lower intakes, 3" piping for the cold side and 3" piping from the turbo to the rear bumper. Converted the car from 4 lug to 5 lug and placed 17" bullits on all 4 corners.

Car as it sits now

Went a little further with it then I expected to but thats the nature of the beast I guess.

Thanx, no numbers or times yet.
I need to iron out a bug. It's hesitating from time to time. Don't know if it's a fuel or igniton related problem. Once I iron that out, it should be all good.

I had a 88 Turbo Coupe, was a fun car but man the problems, arrrggg. I also was part owner of an 86 Turbo Coupe my friend wanted to take the engine out of to put in his Ranger, that never happened and the car just well, went away lol. I bought an 87 Turbo Coupe and parted it out last year.

I still have thought about getting another one for a beater, who knows. Fun cars though for the money!

I've had a 86 and 88 Turbo Coupe. Fun cars with just simple mods. Still have a good turbo 2.3 motor, can't decide if I want to just sell it or keep it for a buggy or the likes.

I have two a 87 and a 88. They are spent. what is a k27 turbo? What turbo do I need for 320rwhp?

Would a GT35 be a good choice for a 88 Turbo Coupe?
