Timing Cover

2 Attachment(s)
Preface: 2000 Mustang GT, 103k miles

My timing cover is cracked on a pulley mount (see attached). I replaced the pulley, but it still squeaks, and I'm not sure I'm able to tighten it down "enough." I got another timing cover from my boss; it's off a Ford truck, unknown year, and I was wondering if it would work. Mine has the 1-bolt tensioner, and this other one has the three-bolt tensioner. My questions are:

1) Will the truck cover work?
2) Will I need to reroute the belt with the different tensioner? I haven't looked at it since Christmas, but it appears the tensioner faces the opposite direction.

You need to get another 00 mustang cover. The trucks have a different accessory belt routing, and could interfere with some of your accessories. The 96-98, 1999, 2000, and 01-04 mustangs all have different timing covers.

Hmmm...so I probably couldn't use a friend's off his '01 either?
