Drive Shaft Loop NHRA 2:4
Does anyone know the 2007 NHRA rule 2:4 as respects drive shaft loops?
I know in 2006 running DOT Street "Slicks" slower than 11.49 it was not required. Thanks. |
I believe that if you run the DOT MT ET Streets, you are required to have a DSL if you run faster than 12.99. Atleast they made me put one on at San Antonio Raceway.

Et street are considered a slick tire even know they are DOT approved you will have to have a driveshaft safety loop. A street tire these days are an eagle gt or or a firestone terrenza. drag radials are considered a racing tire. Per the NHRA rule book if you run 13.99 with a slick tire you have to have DSL But you can run a up to a 11.49 with street tires without a DSL. Reason if you can run a 11.49 on regular street tires you have a 10 second car that's spinning and chanses are a u-joint is never going to brake without traction. WHEN I TECH A CAR IN AND IT HAS ANY BRAND DRAG RADIAL I ALWAYS ASK IF THEY HAVE A DRIVESHAFT LOOP 9 TIMES OUT OF 10 THEY DO, BETTER SAFE THEN SORRY.
