My Maximum Motorsport LCA install review

I got these for around 198 shipped and installed them today. Did this with hand tools and a few beer breaks and it took about 3 hours. It was a fairly easy install with minimal issues. The chassis bolts were a pain to get to on the inner part mainly due to my dumps being right there. However, they were manipulated. Also when you try to put the bolt into the LCA on the axle bracket, that can get tricky as the axle wants to move. Nothing that a pry bar couldn't handle.

Put the car was on jack stands on the chasis and one jackstand on one side of the axle right before full droop.

I loosened the chasis pivot bolt first, but did not undo it yet.

Then I loosened the bolt at the axle brack and removed that. Took the floor jack and slowly lowered the LCA to allow the spring to extend. Once that was done, I then took out the chasis bolt as it had no tensions and came right out.


The car feels more sturdier than before and the rear feels more planted. I can feel every bit of the road and the bumps are more stable. Kind of like having an overinflated tire. There really isn't any NVH as many say are supposed to with these arms as they have spherical bushing and all. Maybe I am deaf?

For those with quad shocks, and these LCA's, you can remove them. I chose to keep them(reversed so my 315's can fit).
Overall I like em and simple to install. A good product for a normal driven car that will be seeing some track time again.

If you have air tools, use them as they will cut down install time tremendously.

My friend put on there lower and upper control arms plus sub frame connectors, and loved the results. There is a couple articles in mmaff about them, and how they correct the geometry to create less binding. I am in san luis obispo alot so have actually been to there shop. Just currious but why keep the quad shocks, I was told they hurt performance and were just a quick fix by ford.

I don't see where quad shocks are going to hurt performance, they don't weigh anything and they reduce axle roll.

I guess just for clearance issues, would be the only reason to remove? Maximum motorsports, was saying that after new upper and lower control arms they would be dead weight.

I helped do the install on the car to which Blueyedevil refers. I was very impressed with the fit and finish. We where replacing some South Side Machine bars and the difference was night and day. Two thumbs up for the Maximum bars.

The quad shocks do is to eliminate wheel hop. However the MM LCA's will do that just as much if not better so you really do not need them. Many took them off and have no issues. I just chose to keep them on.

i just put the same ones in a few weeks ago, only i bought the adjustable height ones. the lowers took us about an hour on a lift with power tools, the uppers sucked to change out, just did the FRPP ones as suggested by the MM techs, the bushing on the axle end was a huge PITA to get out. make sure you torque them all to about 85-95 ft lbs. i like the results ive felt so far on the street but have yet to get the car on the track to see the real results and see how much it helped out
