3.73 or 4.10
 

Modding the stang finally, want to know what gears would go best with my future set-up. Ive been told 3.73 would be better, but some more opinions are always nice.

will be nitrous in the begining (125 shot probably) with boost later down the line when I can afford it.

so 3.73 or 4.10? My car is a 5-speed.

I have on 04 gt with 3:73's and a 150 shot. my buddy has an 03 gt with a procharger and 4:10's . both cars are a stick and make about the same power but i dont have as much of a problem getting traction as he does. so in my opinion for a stick 3:73's but with an auto it would be 4:10's with any sort of power adder

3.73's

3.73s are definitely the better gear for a power adder setup.

4.10s and up are good for bolt-on/slightly modded N/A cars. But once you get to a certain point(ex. 500RWHP), you don't want that steep of gears anymore. Traction will be a pretty big issue as it is, and steep gears will only make things worse. On top of that, you will spending more time shifting, than you would be in gear.


So, since you already plan on having a 125 shot and then some boost later, you'll definitely want to go ahead and stick with 3.73s.
