View Full Version : New Best at the Motorplex N/A & N20
dan03mach 03-26-2006, 03:00 AM I got a new best today at the Motorplex both N/A and N20.. My best N/A run was a 12.132@111.38mph 1.60 60ft 1/4 mile, and 7.702@89.22mph 1/8 mile... My best Nitrous pass was 11.221@121.23mph 1.51 60ft 1/4 mile, and 7.158@95.80mph 1/8 mile.. The car was running great all day long and very consistant.. I only made 2 N20 runs because they kicked me off the last one. The first pass on the N20 was a 11.301@120.94 1.55 60ft but they didn't say anything to me on that run about not having a cage, fire suit, etc, but on the 2nd run which was late at night he gave me hell about it. Like I said the car was running great but all good things have to come to an end.. The throw out bearing was making a little noise, but I didn't pay too much attention to it.. On the way home though it started to screem at me bad, so I new something was wrong, well I took the tranny out tonight to see what it was and that part that the throw out bearing slides on that holds the input shaft inplace, well it broke clean off.. I don't know if there is a transmission shop that is open on sunday where I can find one of those parts at for a TKO, But I need one bad if I am going to race at the cruise on Sunday.. If anyone has one or knows where I can get one ASAP let me know quickly..
Dan
Brains 03-26-2006, 12:55 PM The bearing retainer? Not sure where you could find one on a Sunday, but its a pretty common piece -- should be able to find it tomorrow pretty easily.

Yeah thats what I broke, the bearing retainer.. I'm going to try to find a steel one instead of the aluminum one that comes on them..
Bitemark46 03-28-2006, 12:05 PM Nice times. What gear do you have? I know some guys go w/ 4.30's since you put down more torque the previous year 4v's. -Mark

I have 4.10's but I think they are hurting me on the N20.. I think I need to put my 3.73's back in..
Troy Carter 03-28-2006, 01:31 PM Makes me want a Mach 1 even more....
Brains 03-28-2006, 03:46 PM I was cruising down the road in my GTO one day, and got thoroughly whooped by a Mach 1 ... Those suckers definitely scoot :)
dan03mach 03-30-2006, 01:38 PM I went even faster then those times this past Wednesday at out local 1/8th mile track.. Here are the slips.

Brains 03-30-2006, 02:40 PM Nice :D You're definitely stickin' it outta the hole, gotta love that 1.49 sixty!!
dan03mach 03-30-2006, 04:20 PM Nice :D You're definitely stickin' it outta the hole, gotta love that 1.49 sixty!!Yep that was my best 60ft ever.. Not to bad with a 5 speed.. I need a 28" tire and I think I can run some 10.99's in the 1/4 and a 6.99 or so in the 1/8th. I am having to shift to 4th right now in the 1/8th and I think it is killing my times.. I want to stay in 3rd in the 1/8th..
Brains 03-30-2006, 05:19 PM Yeah, you're ready for 28's. that's kinda the boat I'm with my Firebird - 4.11's out back, and I'm running just about the same MPH you are through the 1/8th on motor (96.xx mph). Problem is, I'm also running 3 tenths slower than you
I'd love to spray it, but I'd be in 5th gear though the 1/4 traps... not good! Of course for me to go faster, all it'd REALLY take is to stop nailing my weak ass 1.70 short times ;)

Its all in the 60ft.. Mustangs always 60ft good, and with some suspension mods like I have it's even better..
Speeds8erM-1 04-02-2006, 05:19 AM Damn, that thing is getting down! Holy 60ft batmang! How much nawzzzz and what other mods?
dan03mach 04-03-2006, 03:21 AM Damn, that thing is getting down! Holy 60ft batmang! How much nawzzzz and what other mods? It's a 125 shot, and I just have full exhaust, CAI, Tune, build drivetrain, rear supsension, drag rims/tires, and a race weight of 3330lbs with driver.. Not really too many mods but I can put the power to the ground pretty good.. The car dyno'd 320rwhp and 335rwtq and 465rwhp and 540rwtq the last time I was there, but the N20 numbers aren't real accurate since it went a little lean. It normally puts down around 435rwhp & 530rwtq on the N20..
Speeds8erM-1 04-04-2006, 07:10 PM Nice! Anything other than the wheels to get it down to 3330 with you in it and how much do you weigh?

I took the passenger and rear seats out, spare, jack, it has an aluminum flywheel and d/s.. I also have the front swaybar taken off, and the rear pipes over the axles are off.. I weigh right around 150 or so lbs...
Zinc03 04-09-2006, 05:16 AM Nice, your obviously an excellent driver too :D :D
