I'm looking for some new wheels for the new Mustang. I'm leaning towards classic styling, I really like those 20" Axis wheels too. Anyone have any photos of their '05+ Mustang on aftermarket wheels?

Post up!

Thanks

Here's an interesting site you might take a look. Not sure what wheels are available to show or if more can be added. http://www.ponybuilder.com/home.html

Might want to look at FR500's. They make them now with the offset for the 05+ Mustang.

I found some on a new stang:

I like those wheels, though they'd look a little better on the new model 1" bigger or so.

That's one thing I have noticed about Ford guys -- they *always* go for a factory wheel when looking for an upgrade  Ford probably made a killing on the 98 Cobra wheels...

They look half-way decent compared to whats coming on these 05+.

The 505's or 500's would look good.

Why that is, I dunno. To me, welds or some type of Ford wheel always looked best on a stang. Mine arent technically Ford though, theyre made by Wheel Replicas out of Katy. But they are a clone of the Ford FR500.

I dont know what size those are on the 05 up there, but mine are 18*9"

Those CCW 505s are gorgeous

The mustangs I've seen around here with aftermarket rims kind of look odd. Those with ford/ford aftermarket usually tend to look more natural. Mustangs don't see to blend w/rims as well as an f-body does - or maybe its just more difficult to get the right look. The few 'stangs I've seen w/aftermarket rims were pretty bland otherwise.

I'll probably go 20s on the street, 15s on the track. These Mustangs look great with 20s on them, probably since the cars are kind of large.

nothing less than 19's. These cars make 18's look small. Ford did a good job with the 00 cobra R by giving them 18's from the factory.

That's because Ford has a great variety of good looking wheels, and they're cheap, especially when compared to GM wheels.

Yes, the iForged look killer. I'm thinking I want something more retro for this car, but I change my mind daily. Since the '06 GT is Lisa's daily-driver and she takes it to college, I think I'll go with something low maintenance (not polished) and something relatively cheap so they can be curbed with authority. haha

I like these alot:

Another manufacture is makig these with a blushed face, look killler.

Simular billet rim:

These are cool too, Americans website say they only make them up to 17's, but the linked website has them in 20x8 & 20x10:

These are interesting:

those american racing wheels are quite expensive, definately more than you want to spend for what he said they will be used for. especially if they might get curbed now and then.

i had the 2000 cobra R's on my 96 GT. they were gorgeous. my vote for an 06 would have to lean with the FR500's. and yeah, theres not much better wheel than some of the stock option wheels made for stangs.

Hey Tony,

20" wheels look killer on '05+GT's, but when lowered...they ride
like absolute shit. Just something to think about.

I'm gonna go with some 18" TTII's when I decide to do appearance mods.

Whatever you do, Dont go with 20" Torque thrust 2's.There is a mineral grey one here locally and it looks like crap.Wheels just dont go w/the new body style Mustang.

Get you some Hallibrand knock-offs. I like the ones in the ebay link you posted.

I think the charcoal center section looks good with a red car.

I'm probably going to go with a set of 20" Axis GTR wheels. I feel the clean and simple design matches the hard lines on the Mustang body. Plus, they have painted centers and clear coated lips, which means ultra low maintenance. Since the car is a daily driver and gets parked outside, these are important issues to consider :)

FM5s look 1993 to me. Thats when they first came out, and they still use the crappy stepped lip on them. No thanks :)
